Into the hoods - 10th August 2008 - Tony Mortimer
helloooooo
WOW! WOW! WOW! I went to see this show Into the Hoods just off Drury lane the other night and was blown away.
All I can say is if you are going to watch one show at the theatre this year and you like a bit of breakdancing, then this is the show to see. It was just amazing, it's got that George Sampson (i think thats his name) who won Britains got talent in it, he is very young and was a little out of his depth when it came to moves but he is only 14.
It was very funny and the dancers were just amazing, absolutely brilliant. It had everyone in fits of laughter from time to time and even got a standing ovation at the end which for a british audience is saying something as we usually just sit there politely saying to ourselves "i want to stand and clap but i dont think i should, stiff upper lip and all that" :O)
Theres a young girl in it (kinda the co star)and she looks all innocent until even she starts dancing and it turns out she just happens to be the Dutch hip hop champion...and she isnt even the best dancer!!!! Its a great great show so if you like big arse grooves or breakdancing or if your just looking for a good show to watch then this has it all. I'm not easily impressed but in this case I gotta say 10/10, and well done for being the first Hip Hop show ever in the UK Theatre. Check out the character named 'Jaxx' trus me, you havent seen nothing till you seen this guy move.
I havent been away yet but I'm off to Egypt, Jerusalem and hopefully a bit of NYC again (prays for snow) for some well need suntime (apart from NYC obvs:O) anyone go anywhere this summer for hols???or still planning???
Updating my operating system in my studio this week which is always a nightmare but it's gotta be done every few years andthen I can get musical again cos Im having major withdrawal symptons at mo :O)
right gotta shoot im off down brighton way for a little jamming session with my mates band
Speak soon peepz

The Lowdown - 31st July 2008 - Tony Mortimer
Tony has bought himself a garage that fixes motorcycles. It should be good for him since he's always breaking his bikes. Tony has just bought a 1999 Hayabusa and has decided to "pimp his own ride" lol. He's painted it a lovely shade of now candy purple and added chrome wheels, engine cover, clutch cover, frame etc. Keep an eye out for pictures to be appearing soon on Tony's myspace.
Tony says he is currently upgrading his home studio and once it's finished he's going to be busting out some new tunes. Look forward to hearing some of them soon.

Can Tony Mortimer be as eloquent as the number one single "Stay Another Day"?
Watch BBLB to get the insider goss on what's happening to "everybody in the House of love."

Heya! - 3rd June 2008 - Tony Mortimer
Heyyyy! Hello Salut Guten tag konnichiwa Hi Aloha Etc…
WOW! How times flies when you're old and fat
Just letting you all know what I have been up to in a few words, or thereabouts as my visits on here recently have been about as rare as Dodo shit
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodo
MOTORCYCLE SHOP – Going fantastic and I have finally sold my gas guzzling car so all I have now is a motorcycle which I have to keep due to the fact that I can't get anywhere without needing a motorway otherwise I think I would just ride my mountain bike. I do have to say though a 'motorcycle' is probably a slight understatement, it's a 1999 unrestricted 200MPH+ Suzuki Hayabusa which is the fastest mass production road bike on the planet. I say mass production because Jay Leno has a motorcycle with a Helicopter engine fitted and I believe about 15 or so were made. If you ever wanna race me Mr Leno just gimme a shout. You can check out his bike on:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ElrUoaOkY8
MUSIC – I am finally going to release all my tracks for download starting in the next few weeks. I am just sorting out the mechanics etc... and then I can upload 2 download. I ctually have a tiny dreamof hearing a track at a BBQ, which in itself would be a small dream come true. Tiny dreams are far more reachable unlike my other dreams, like losing weight, getting fit, you know the usual haha.
Also I am now ONLY gonna use a Solar Powered Studio that runs on nothing but pure UV from Le Solaire.
http://www.foe.co.uk/campaigns/climate/case_studies/solar_studio.html
It really does have everything you need so there is no excuse. Overall my carbon emissions have taken quite a nice tumble this year so I feel a lot less guilty about the GW situ' :O) In fact I think my biggest emission now is my wind haha - I am actually in two minds whether the GW is just the Earth having a little change cos she wants too, but even so, every little helps.
GENERAL – Getting up between 6 and 7:00am for my morning bike ride so if anyone sees or hears an old boy huffing and puffing up the hills fear not 'tis only I taking all morning to do what I used to do all morning. I am just about to embark on my third acting course which is fun, they say it takes about 20 years to become a great actor, not sure if I can wait that long bet hey!. :O) also lots more photos this year as that dept is slacking big time.
Motto for the day
"I'd love to have a battle of whit, but I'd hate to pick a fight with the unarmed"
Looking forward to spreading the music again.

Brian Harvey - 29th May 2008 - Mirror 3am
E17 "star" Brian Harvey was thrown out of one of Prince Harry's favourite London clubs - for not being posh enough.
We're told: "Brian snuck into Amika behind the bouncers' backs. He was getting a few odd looks from the refined crowd as he was dressed like an absolute chav in really baggy clothing. He left the venue shouting and screaming... "

East 17 make new video in a graveyard - 18th April 2008 - Mirror 3am
Many consider boyband E17 to be dead and buried - so what better place to relaunch than a graveyard?
The boys leapt around Alperton Cemetery in Brent, filming the video for their new single.

Brians New Movie Venture - 18th April 2008 - FightBackMovie.com
Brian has signed on to make a new movie called "Fight Back". Fight-Back is an action comedy set in the crime ridden streets of modern day England. It profiles Gordon Brown’s Britain and is centered around the life of hero Tom Hicks and his crusade to ‘stop the rot’ of crime in his local area. The film starts by telling Tom’s story and details the grief that a young Tom and his Mother, Lisa, received at the hands of his no good alcoholic Father, Steve. Brian plays Bret Walker aka "The Dog". The movie is expected to be released sometime in 2008. Check out Brians profile for the movie ...here...

Boyband solo careers: Best and worst - 8th April 2008 - Digital Spy
The Losers: Brian Harvey from East 17 - There was a very brief moment in the '90s when Brian Harvey was considered a "cool" and "credible" artist. His solo venture spawned one dreadful album called Solo, an LP that featured such masterpieces as 'Loving You (Ole, Ole, Ole)' and 'Straight Up (No Bends)'

Long Time - 23rd March 2008 - Tony Mortimer (My Space)
Well...I guess I have got a little addicted to motorbikes, so much so that I have purchased a motorcycle business but don’t worry I am not the one fixing the bikes because that would be just plain dangerous for all concerned That’s where I have been with my spare time of late just getting things sorted with my partner Richard, so.. if you have any trouble with your motorcycle just bring it down and Richard will sort the prob’
On top of that I have purchased a new bike... 200MPH+

Harvey Banned From Driving - 4th March 2008 - Contact Music
EAST 17 star BRIAN HARVEY has been banned from driving - after he was found guilty of a speeding offence. The British singer was found by police officers to be travelling over 138 miles per hour (222 kilometres per hour) in the south of England last May (07). Harvey denied the offence, claiming police stopped the wrong car after losing it in a chase. He also alleged the patrolmen were lying, and had defective eyesight. But the pop star was found guilty of speeding, and was banned from driving for 180 days, given a $300 (GBP150) fine and ordered to pay $480 (GBP240) in court costs. Harvey says, "The magistrates were very lenient and I appreciate that."

Driving ban for East 17's Harvey - 4th March 2008 - BBC
East 17 singer Brian Harvey has been banned from driving for six months after being found guilty of going nearly double the speed limit. The 33-year-old was pulled over by police on the M4 between Chippenham and Swindon last May.
Police told Chippenham Magistrates' Court how they had reached speeds of 138mph catching Harvey.
Harvey, who had been returning home to London after a concert, denied an offence of speeding.
Representing himself, he claimed police saw another car speed past them but lost it in the chase and stopped the wrong car.
He also claimed the officers' eyesight was defective and that they were lying.
Chief magistrate Michael Sutton imposed a 180-day driving ban, a £150 fine and ordered Harvey to pay court costs of £240.
Harvey, speaking outside court, said: "The magistrates were very lenient and I appreciate that."

Brian: E17 vs Take That again - 25th January 2008 - The Sun
E-17 geezer BRIAN HARVEY rang yesterday to tell me: “We could give TAKE THAT a run for their money.”
He called after I revealed toe-curling details of the Walthamstow band’s upcoming comeback track, F*** That.
But Brian, so friendly I suspect he dropped one of his disco biscuits before calling me, insisted the song is a demo.
He told me: “I fink the backing track is quality, man. The lyrics were us trying to be as controversial as we could.
“We even looked up f*** in the dictionary to see what it meant.
“We were the rebels of the music industry so we wanted to write a rebellious song.
“We could give Take That a run for their money. We don’t have our original line-up, eiver, so we’ve got summink in common.”
Brian plans to use the track as part of a soundtrack for a violent Brit flick, Fightback, he is shooting. So I look forward to bringing you a review of that masterpiece, too.

East 17's new single? F*** that! - 24th January 2008 - The Sun
Oh s*** ... the boys are back with foul-mouthed single I’VE been leaked EAST 17’s comeback single and, let me tell you, it’s brilliant.
But probably not in the way BRIAN HARVEY and the gang hoped.
The increbibly titled F*** That, with 35 uses of the F-word, has unintentionally given me the most laugh-out-loud three-and-a-half minutes I’ve had this year.
It’s due out in the spring.
Brian, JOHN HENDY and TERRY COLDWELL are launching another comeback under the name E-17, without ex-frontman TONY MORTIMER, and their single is a vicious attack on the music industry.
But when it gets on the radio, expect multiple car crashes across the country as drivers double up with laughter.
Then again, the song will probably NOT be played on radio because the language is bluer than in GORDON RAMSAY’s kitchen.
But it would be one of the greatest travesties of our time if it didn’t get heard, so I have put it on my website for you to listen to.
The lyrics include:
“Angry about having my hands tied, musically s*******d, taken for a ride.
“Singing other people’s s**t, making it a hit, it don’t fit.
“Judged everywhere you go, putting on a show, compromising.”
And the chorus scowls: “F*** the industry, f*** the enemy, A&R people don’t know s***.”
Delightful.
Album
And there’s more - Harvey and Co. hope to follow their single with a new album later this year. But if the other songs are at all like this one, the band will be up for a host of comedy gongs this time next year.
During their Nineties pomp with Mortimer, the lads had a string of Top 10 singles and albums and a Christmas No1 in 1994 with Stay Another Day.
Then in 1997 Harvey sparked outrage by boasting about his ecstasy pill-popping and trying to justify taking the drug. The band sacked him and Mortimer left soon after.
But Harvey, Coldwell and Hendy played a reunion show in Liverpool in November and are now eyeing a full-on comeback
But Parental Advice: Explicit and, frankly, ridiculous lyrics.
