Five stars Abs and Scott at the Forum
3rd January 2010 - Welwyn Hatfield Times
TWO members of chart-toppers 5ive will be re-living the 90s at the Forum later this month.
Scott and Abs – real names Scott Robinson and Richard Breen – are the special guests at the students only Flirt night on Friday, January 22, with a Back to the 90s theme.
During 5ive’s heyday, along with Ritchie Neville, Sean Conlon and Jason ‘J’ Brown, Scott and Abs topped the charts three times.
The boyband first crashed into the top 10 with debut single Slam Dunk (Da Funk) and enjoyed further chart success with number two hits Everybody Get Up, which sampled Joan Jett & The Blackhearts’ I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll, and If Ya Getting Down, which borrows the bass line from Indeep’s Last Night A DJ Saved My Life.
The five-piece finally scored their maiden number one in November 1999 with single Keep on Movin’.
They topped the charts again the following year after collaborating with Queen guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor on a remake of We Will Rock You.
Their final chart-topper in 2001 was Let’s Dance.
The band briefly reformed a couple of years ago.
Entry to the Flirt night costs £4 in advance, £5 on the door and £7.50 after midnight.

New Year!
1st January 2010 - Ragz!
If you haven't made it over to Ritchie, er, sorry RAGZ myspace you should do it now. Not only will you hear the amazing new tunes he's been working on but you'll also be kept up to date with what he's been up to recently. Here's some of what you've been missing out on!
Greatings Earthlings,
I come in peace to tell you that I have had a really nice Christmas, after Christmas Day I was pretty lazy, I have probably watched 10-15 movies! I've been to the cinema twice, saw 'The Lovely Bones' which was cool and I saw 'Avatar' in 3D last night which was amazing and I highly recommend you go and see it on the big screen. I have woken on this the last day of 2009. I don't know about anyone else but I'm glad to see the back 2009, probably the worst year yet. The possitive of this is that even though it was a steaming pile of horse shit of a year for me on the whole, I have still had some amazing moments and met some really nice friends that will be with me forever and I also now know that it doesn't matter what life throws, I will get through it and still be smiling [most of the time]. So, its good bye to 2009, good bye to the decade that gave us Bush and Blair and all that crap and on to double figures. I'm hoping that the next year and decade will bring some peace to the world, after all, we are under the same sun, we all love our children and we are all the same really. And personally I hope all your individual lives are blessed with happiness, health and are rich with great relationships. Remember, your only here once in this skin so enjoy to the max. I'm off to watch the fireworks on Sydney Harbour bridge tonight with some friends. Happy New Year to you all. Thanks for your continued support, it means so much and keeps me going. Goodbye 2009, Hello 2010! May it be awesome for everyone.
All my love
Ragz
