Pitsea: 5ive star Scott slams `pack of lies'
Chelmsford Weekly News - Wednesday 2nd Feb 2000.

5ive hunk Scott Robinson today hit out at an ex-girlfriend's sordid kiss-and-tell story.

The Pitsea pop star said claims in a national newspaper were a "pack of lies".

Former Basildon girlfriend Hayley Furnish gave the Sunday Sport a lurid account of their two-month relationship.

Scott, 20, now engaged to his teen sweetheart Kerry Oaker, said he and Kerry were hurt by the claims but that it had made their relationship even stronger.

He said: "They are just a pack of lies, it's really annoyed me. I can't believe anyone would stoop so low."

However, he added he had nothing nasty to say about her.

Hayley told the newspaper she became Scott's first love after the pair met when she was a 16-year-old schoolgirl. She went on to claim the pair used to smooch at his mum's Pitsea home.

Scott said: "She told the newspaper we had a really long meaningful relationship but that's not true.

"It was like when you go out with someone when you are nine years old or something. It was nothing, it wasn't even a fling. I certainly didn't love her."

Devoted Scott broke a thousand hearts in June when he went down on one knee to propose to Kerry, 18.

The couple have been friends since they were both pupils at Chalvedon School. They lived just streets away from each other.

But after a number one album and a string of top ten hits with 5ive, Scott and Kerry have had to juggle their private lives to fit around a hectic pop career.

Scott hits the road next month for the band's long-awaited UK tour before heading off to Asia and Austria. He won't be back in the UK until May.

He said: "It is hectic but we deal with it as best we can. At the end of the day 5ive will not go on forever and when it ends I can spend the rest of my life doing what I like with Kerry."
